Exams Coming...Aaaahhhh!!!!!

Well Exams xoming in 12 days. I have suddenly realized that I have a humungous amount to revise. The tottering pile makes my knees go weak. Have to revise Physics,chem and maths. CRAP.

On a lighter note, my half-yearly supply of various items has arrived. Translation:"Sis ter has arrived from Singapore". I usually manage to get her to buy a couple of useful things from ther. like a 25pack of DVD-Rs, some books(Peter Norton's guide to Linux, P.G.Wodehouse, Asimov...). So i am sorely tempted to read those but sigh.....

Dhoom Machaale

Saw Dhoom 2 on Friday. Not bad. Expected a bit more. There's no story to speak of, the music sucks, and they've ruined the ending. Uday Chopra is just the comic relief, Bipasha is eye-candy. Hrithik looks cool and the stunts are great. The effects are rather impressive. The scenery is also good. Aishwarya .... is all right but not really a meaty role. and NO bikes till the last 10-15 mins X-( Hrithik's disguies are also quite good. And Hrithik's entrance and Abhishek's entrance rocks. The movie's watchable but I wouldn't recommend it to anybody looking for a story.

Voices In My Head

What am I? Just a bunch of atoms, with certain electrical signals inside some specific atoms. Sometimes I wonder what made man develop the capacity for abstract thought. Why did he not stick to seaching for his next meal? Why did he develop greed,avarice and pride? Why are some people's neurons more efficient than others? Why am I writing so much crap? My neurons need to be cleaned...Round II of My extistential Angst.

Zonal Informatics Olympiad....And Aching Feet

Went for the Zonal Informatics Olympiad. It was held in Kolkata. Means had to take an early morn train. The teach who went with us was..How should I put it?...A Nincompoop!!!!! First He's really nervous.(He's new you see) We got into the train and reached Howrah at right time(8:45 AM) we told him to take a ferry and cross the river and take a taxi from the other side. But No...He WILL take a prepaid taxi from the station. Net Result: Got stuck coming out of Howrah station and going to Rabindra Setu. The Traffic there literally crawls. Add some really "interesting" odours and you have a bad time. It took us half an hour just to cross Howrah Bridge. Reached Venue(Park Street) a bit late. Went to give the exam. Was all right. Questions were a bit wierd. But all right. Exam over at 1:00. This guy want to take a train called Shaktipunj which leaves Howrah at 2:15 P.M. We reached Howrah at 1;50 P.M. and suggested that we go by Coalfield Exp. No. Pack Something to eat from the Food Plaza and go to the platform. It being a Long Dist train and since we didn't have Sleeper class tickets. had to get into general. God Almighty .No place to sit, no place to stand properly. Had to stand all squashed up for 3 Hours. My poor Aching feet. We were all cursing the guy pretty frequently all through the journey. Oh. and We had to pay for our tickets.

Stupid West Bengal Govt.

Apparantly the WB govt is planning to pass a bill which allows all non-commercial parties to post posters and graffiti on anybody's walls, as long as they 'ask' them. Yeah Right. They can't control the naxalites, calcutta is one of the most polluted cities in the world, people are dying of hunger and disease and all they can think about is graffiti. And We vote these people to power. Get Ready to wake up to A Graffitied Bengal.

Seminars and Cultural Programmes

Stupid title but It makes it look like I attend seminars. Actually The seminar was in the morning and for me Dad. There was some stupid cultural program in the evening for which we went. Dear God.....Imagine a group of mentally deficient chickens all dressed up in stupid apparal and suffering from an advanced form of epilepsy. That would be like the dances performed. Now Imagine a girl who's being paid a fiver for every vowel she draws out, a rupee for every thank you she says and 50p for every "That was a great performance'....You've got the announcer. Then add some waiters who either think you're invisible or who can see only you...a wierd orchestra, a bunch of chattering ladies, some kids running berserk...awful food set in an atmosphere of Bengali songs and The Lost World ....My Evening in toto.

Well, This Sucks....

Question: Which is worse, a running nose or a blocked one?
Answer: A running one.

Decided to take a break from school for a couple of days. Reason:-Cold and Sore Throat. So didn't go to school. Got the home-500 plan, decided to see when night unlimited starts. Night Unlimited my foot. 0200-0800 is night? They should call it morning unlimited. Still have to complete a computer project, an EVS project and submit a Chem project. Yup, I'm a master procrastinator. :-)) Plus this house is nice and cool in summer. But its damn chilly already. brr....

Existential Angst

Why am I Alive? What use of my being alive? Why am I not famous or rich? Why are some people rich and famous while some are doomed to mediocrity? Is there something special in these people? These are some questions that reverbrate in my head. Sometimes I feel I'm just wasting my time. Sometime's I feel that I'm not doing anything worthwhile. Then again I feel like doing something that will make the world remember me. Ah Woe Is Me

Damn Winter Timings

Today, I got up all "fresh" , wishing I didn't have to go to school. I got ready and reached school at 7:10 A.M. I figured I must have arrived earlycoz the cycle stand was empty...then it struck me. Today was the day from which winter timings started :-X (8:00 to 2:00 instead of 7:30 to 1:30). But I wasn't the only one. There were some other ppl who were like me.They also forgot that winter timings started from today. Then while about to return home my Bajaj spirit had a flat, had to go to the nearby shop and fill it up. Net Result:- reached home at 2:35 P.M. Mom was worried and called my friend to see what the matter was. I had forgotten to tell her about the timing change and top it up with the flat.... Anyway I returned home rather irritated. Damn Timing change

So I scrapped a few criticisms about the Aims. The first time he was nice and cool. When I made a more detailed criticism, he got annoyed and banned me. No problem actually cause i've got another ID and if he bans that too, then another and ad infinitum. But lets see what he says.

Anti Climatic Comedy

The time:10:25 P.M. I was just about to start eating when...There's a knock at the gate.The Watchmen were outside saying that they thought they saw someone in the bushes but they had omitted to bring their torch so could we lend them one. Now our torch doesn't work and we told them so, and sent them to our,well...not next door, but neighbour. Mission Bring Torch Failed. They don't have a torch. So me and my dad decided to go with them and examine the matter. Guess what? The "Man' was actually some dogs feasting on the junk dumped after the afore mentioned party. What an Anti-Climax.

The Party

Some friends of me mom were annoyed that we hadn't invited them to a party to show them our new house. So mom decided to invite them over today. First we had to spruce up the house, order chairs, arrange chairs,etc,etc... The big day finally dawned, with me wishing I was a thousand miles away ;-) . So the guests started arriving, I hooked up with a couple of friends and managed to while away the time. There was an emergency when one ofthe guests car had a breakdown near our house while coming and we had to go and tow the car to our house. later after lunch all the men, decided to go and see if we could repair the car(I'm obviously including myself among the men) We couldn't. So called the mechanic. He said he's coming in half an hour. I don't know which clock he follows but he turned up after 2hrs and a lot of phone calls. After coming he tinkered around with the engine, declared that the fan belt was cut and it needed to be taken to the garage. After that i sorted the rubbish in the house(plates and cups) and dumped them some place away. We got some nice presents including a carpet, a set of 3 casseroles, a mobile holder, a set of 6 glasses and various other presents. What a day!!!

I've Installed Doom 3

They said:-"Doom 3 won't run if You don't have a Graphics card". I told them :-"Is zat zo? Sez You." I've just been playing Doom 3 and guess what...I don't have a graphics card.Only an IGP which is really crap. So don't you believe it when they tell you that You won't be able to play Doom 3. Sure You'll have to turn off all the eye candy but did you install it to play it or ogle at it?

We Tried to screw dataone...

Well, The ISP that most of my friends and I use is BSNL's Dataone. We decided "lets take one Unlimited Plan and share the costs." Today we tried to see if one can login from two or more places at the same time. Unfortunately We can't. I'm going to see if I can find some method of doing this. If we manage to do this, well.....Dataone's in for a hell of a loss. ;-)

Orkut's catching on here

Orkut's getting real popular here in School. Earlier it used to be a couple of people....Maybe. Now everyday a couple of more people join the group. And they are online a lot too. Wierd, this sudden Orkutting fad. It'll wear off but I personally prefer IM. It's way easier to talk using IM but Orkut is great for making friends.

Something About Me

This Should Have Been the first post but eh who cares. So here goes:

I am a nice, superb, intelligent person who is unbelievably talented. Oh and I can lie with a poker straight face. Jokes Apart I'm still in High School(going to complete it) and I plan to go for Computer Science. Let's See What Happens.
